Haikal Farid

Mohamad Haikal bin Farid Rizal, known professionally as Haikal Farid, is a 21-year-old singer from Shah Alam, Selangor (as of 2020). He received his education at a private higher education institution in Subang Jaya, Selangor. As the third child among seven siblings, Haikal Farid has ventured into the entertainment industry as a singer under the management of Rusa Music. Some of his popular songs include “Demam Cinta,” “Waktu Terindah,” and “Genggam.” He is set to release a new single titled “Tak Terganti” in early 2021. His Instagram account @haikalfarid has over 70,000 followers.

Haikal started his career by sharing cover performances on social media, including YouTube. He draws inspiration from international singer Ed Sheeran for his musical genre. He was recognized as the winner of a singing competition held in conjunction with the release of the film Busker, performing the film’s OST titled “Atma Jiwa.” He also competed in the Immortal Songs competition aired on TV3, where his performance received praise from the renowned M. Nasir. Haikal is known for his unique approach to the Pop Country genre, highlighted by his song “Waktu Terindah,” which was written by his sister, Farhana Farid. His vocal style is often compared to female singers and has been said to resemble that of Sufian Suhaimi. His song “Demam Cinta” was featured as a soundtrack in the drama series Senafas Rindu and the telemovie Formula Cinta.
